Having Liqui-Moly signing with Bathurst 12 Hour organisers, Supercars Events, to remain the naming rights sponsor for a further five years is the icing on the cake.

This five-year extension takes Liqui-Moly’s involvement in Australia’s international race around the clock through to 2022 – 10 years all up. This is an exceptional achievement given the turbulent nature of motorsport, where it’s quite unusual for any organiser to commit to a sponsor for such a long period.
The confidence that Supercar Events has in Liqui-Moly and MotorActive is a clear indication they recognise and appreciate Liqui-Moly’s active participation and marketing efforts in and around the event – such as using the 2017 race as the national launch for Liqui-Moly EuroMechanica and the inclusion of the Bathurst 12 Hour in Liqui-Moly Germany’s renowned international calendar.

Sponsorship is all about leveraging your involvement – which is a heck of a lot harder than it looks. The Bathurst 12-Hour is a classic example, we recognised that our customers want their car to look good and go great, which is why MotorActive incorporated Meguiar’s right alongside Liqui-Moly,”said Morrison.
The 12-Hour has established itself as a must-do event on the global GT calendar. The event is telecast to more than 100 countries world-wide, with many more catching the live-stream. This combined with GT racing being a global series, makes the Bathurst 12-Hour a perfect fit for a premium global brand, like Liqui-Moly.
The GT category’s heavy European flavour only serves to further reinforce the relevance to Germany’s number one oils and additives brand, as every car in the field can use Liqui-Moly’s off-the-shelf range of oils and lubricants – just like the race-winning Maranello Motorsport Ferrari did in 2014 and 2017.
“When we came on board in 2013, the event was relatively unheard of, so we couldn’t be happier with its continued growth in stature and popularity both locally and internationally.
Each year it attracts more international drivers, more international teams, along with the absolute best the Australian motorsport community has to offer,”said Morrison.
All in all, securing naming rights sponsorship and an ongoing partnership with the Bathurst 12 Hour for a further five years is something that everybody at Liqui-Moly in Australia and at the head office in Germany, is particularly proud of.
