An Update On Our Operations During the COVID19 Pandemic

It has been incredible to see the support our industry has given each other through these very challenging times.  On behalf of everyone here at hsy, please accept our heartfelt thanks to all of our customers and suppliers that have continued to march-on over the past few weeks and have remained positive when it would have been easy to be the opposite.

It’s still very much business and usual at hsy!  Our stock levels remain good and our deliveries are running to plan.  The process around branch pickups has also worked really well with all health guidelines in place and adhered to.  The safety of both our staff and yours remain our biggest priority so please be assured that every step is being taken to protect them.

One of the areas that has been the cornerstone of hsy’s customer service over the years has been our commitment to product training.  We have a long track record of delivering well above industry standard training programs and we’re very pleased to say, that even in these more isolating times, we are still going to continue to deliver these training packages.

We are currently working with all of our key suppliers and brands on webinar and online based training programs that will allow you and your staff to get the latest education and product development information delivered to your computer.  These programs will be developed specifically for hsy and our customers and will cover the same high-quality material that you have come to expect from us.  Stay tuned for more news on this in the next week or so.

Monday 23rd March, 2020

As we all know, we are currently living in a rapidly changing environment but we wanted to reassure all of our customers that our operations, branches, supply and deliveries are all operating as per normal.

We can confirm that as of Monday 23rd March, no hsy staff member has either been diagnosed or showing signs of the virus and every health guideline and precaution is being taken.  We have increased the use of sanitisers in our branches and delivery vehicles, our branches are being cleaned on an hourly basis and all staff that are handling products (both in branch and deliveries) are now wearing sanitised gloves.

We have also instigated a work from home policy for all staff that are not required at a branch level but please know that every hsy branch is currently manned and are operating normally.  We have also suspended physical meetings at our customers premises and will use phone and in some cases video for the time being.

Speaking of our branches, as of this afternoon we have adopted a cashless and contactless working environment.  Access to our front counters has been restricted and pick ups are now available in the loading dock areas of our buildings.  Your clearly marked orders can be picked with the peace of mind knowing we are maintaining the current social distancing guidelines.  Further to this, we have moved to a cashless system where all invoices are to be placed on account, ordered through myhsy or pre-paid by credit card.  This again limits any contamination issues.

These are challenging times but I cannot stress enough that hsy are with you and will support you in any way possible.  One example of this is that we are currently working with our marketing partners and will tomorrow provide some details on a marketing package that may help your business somewhat minimise the impact of the measures we are all facing.

As we all come to grips with the COVID19 Pandemic, we wanted to take this opportunity to write to you personally with an update from hsy and outline details of our immediate plans.

Firstly, we have taken the advice of the Federal Government and Health Authorities and there will be no panic based decisions in our business.  We feel that cool heads give us and our business the best opportunity to continue to provide the level of service and supply to our customers.  Whilst we will continue to monitor the virus situation very closely, at this point in time, we continue to operate all of our services as usual.

Based on the advice from all relevant Health Authorities, we have implemented strict hygiene measures inside all our branches.  We fully understand the importance of the health of your own staff, so rest assured, we are taking every step to ensure that all hsy staff involved in supplying your parts are all meeting or exceeding the guidelines we have been provided.  This is especially the case with our delivery drivers and couriers.  Further to this, please know that the health of every hsy staff members is being closely monitored for not only your safety but obviously their own as well.

In times like these, the importance of a solid supply chain becomes critical.  Along with the fantastic relationship we have with all our key suppliers, hsy has always committed to having a significant level of stockholding on our shelves.  We can confirm that as we sit right now, we have over six month’s supply of all the main products in stock and there is no need to be concerned about your supply.  It is also the reason we will not permit any panic buying, as there is simply no requirement to do so.

We remain completely committed to our customers during this unprecedented time and as always, you have our support in helping you and your business to continue to prosper.
